Parent Carer SEN Support Series – Understanding the EHCP Process

It can be so overwhelming when your child needs more support. This session will look at what other support is available, help us understand more about what an EHCP is, when your child may need one, have a look at the paperwork and how to apply.

Part 2 will cover the EHCP process but will focus on

• What should be in each section of an EHCP

• Working with your LA and SEND team to get the plan to meet your child’s needs

• SEND Law in relation to the EHCP and your parental rights

• Jargon Busting

Pinpoint provide help and information to parents and carers of children and young people aged 0-25 with additional needs and disabilities in Cambridgeshire. No formal diagnosis is required to access support from Pinpoint – a child may be on a waiting list, accessing services, had a referral turned down, or just be struggling.

We offer signposting and events for all things SEND and are the Parent Carer Forum for Cambridgeshire. Pinpoint also give parent carers opportunities to have a say and get involved in improving local services.
