What does the Mental Capacity Act mean for our young person and how we can still be involved in making sure the best choices are made?

As a result of feedback to the Local Authority’s parent/carer Preparing for Adulthood survey, the Local Authority has arranged training for parents on the Mental Capacity Act. The speaker is James Codling who regularly trains professionals in the MCA for Cambridgeshire County Council.

This introductory session will help us as parents and carers in knowing what the Mental Capacity Act may mean for our young person. James will be explaining the role of professionals and when and how we can still be involved in making sure the best choices are made.

Pinpoint provide help and information to parents and carers of children and young people aged 0-25 with additional needs and disabilities in Cambridgeshire. No formal diagnosis is required to access support from Pinpoint – a child may be on a waiting list, accessing services, had a referral turned down, or just be struggling.

We offer signposting and events for all things SEND and are the Parent Carer Forum for Cambridgeshire. Pinpoint also give parent carers opportunities to have a say and get involved in improving local services.

You will be sent an email from Eventbrite containing the Zoom link to access the session 2 days before, 2 hours before and again 15min before. Please do check your junk mail and spam folders as these emails sometimes end up there! Thank you
