Health Participation Session

These Participation Events are designed to give SEND parents and carers the chance to meet with professionals, get information, and give feedback. There is a section of the session where parent carers can ask questions about their own child’s needs too.

About this session: Dental Health

Children with special educational needs and disabilities will need support from different health services at different stages in their lives.

As a Consultant for over 30 years, Jackie Smallridge (Paediatric Dentist) works alongside Addenbrooke’s Hospital Cambridge and is a regional rep for Dental Trauma UK. Jackie is very much a hands-on dentist and hopes to be able to share knowledge, practical tips and work with us to make Dental services better for our SEND children.

Debbie Goodland will be talking about the Dental Passport for the many families struggling with their SEND childs dental needs and the health implications of this.

We also welcome the Healthy Child Programme team to this session. They will be joining us with many other Health professionals who are committed to making sure SEND children receive the health care and support they need.

You will be sent an email containing the Zoom link to access the session 2 days before, 2 hours before and when the session starts. Please do check your junk mail and spam folders as these emails sometimes end up there!

Be comfortable at Pinpoint sessions – You can keep your camera off and stay on mute and simply join us and other parent carers who “get it” from your sofa 😊

Who is Pinpoint?

Pinpoint provide help and information to parents and carers of children and young people aged 0-25 with additional needs and disabilities in Cambridgeshire.

No formal diagnosis is required to access support from Pinpoint – a child may be on a waiting list, accessing services, had a referral turned down, or just be struggling.

We offer signposting and events for all things SEND and are the Parent Carer Forum for Cambridgeshire. Pinpoint also give parent carers opportunities to have a say and get involved in improving local services.  Find out more about us here.
