Autism & Sensory Awareness

July 18 @ 7:45 pm - 9:00 pm

Free

Many autistic children and young people can find the world overwhelming for many reasons but one is often sensory overload. Our children can struggle every day with noises they hear louder than us, smells they detect more than we do to name just a few. These can cause distress in many situations and environments at home and in school.

Jo Keys is back with us to explain what is happening from the viewpoint of our child, how we can help them with simple strategies and plans to reduce this overload both that the whole family and school can support.

Pinpoint provide help and information to parents and carers of children and young people aged 0-25 with additional needs and disabilities in Cambridgeshire.

No formal diagnosis is required to access support from Pinpoint – a child may be on a waiting list, accessing services, had a referral turned down, or just be struggling.

We offer signposting and events for all things SEND and are the Parent Carer Forum for Cambridgeshire. Pinpoint also give parent carers opportunities to have a say and get involved in improving local services.

You will be sent an email containing the Zoom link to access the session 2 days before, 2 hours before and at the start of the session. Please do check your junk mail and spam folders as these emails sometimes end up there!

Be comfortable at Pinpoint sessions – You can keep your camera off and stay on mute and simply join us and other parent carers who “get it” from your sofa 😊
