The differences in ADHD behaviour in different environments can seem like it makes no sense. Children can follow directions at school, but never listen at home. They can be comfortable talking with family or playing with friends, but struggle to develop or maintain good relationships with peers or authority figures in school. They can engage in activities outdoors all afternoon but find it impossible to sit in a classroom for more than half an hour. These paradoxical behaviours can be frustrating for parents and teachers alike. Discover how differences in neurobiology in ADHD mean different environments trigger different levels of ability to act, interact, and stay engaged.
