The Holiday and Food scheme has increased provision for children with SEND this year.
The HAF programme provides places for children from families meet the following eligibility criteria:
- Families receiving income-related free school meals (FSM)
- Families where FSM eligible and non-eligible children live in the same household
- Families just managing financially (subject to referral from a professional)
- Newly arrived refugee families
The Christmas HAF Programme offers eligible families up to 16 hours of free access to participating holiday schemes and family experiences (subject to availability). A meal and snacks are included as well as a range of enriching experiences. If a family is in receipt of benefit-related free school meals (FSM), they will automatically be eligible for HAF and have already been issued an eligibility voucher (including a booking code) by email/text yesterday from hello@holidayactivities.com.
If families are not in receipt of FSM, there are some additional eligibility criteria that can be considered, please see Cambridgeshire County Council’s Parents HAF webpage. If one of the additional eligibility criteria is met, they can issue a booking code, Click here to request a booking code Details of participating organisations and booking information can be found here: HAF Provider Directory – Cambridgeshire County Council
Please ensure the holiday scheme or family experience is made aware, with notice, of any additional needs a child may have so they can assess any adjustments required to ensure the child’s safety and that their needs are able to be met.
The HAF Team may be able to arrange transport for families where they are unable to attend by any other means, please let the HAF provider know if this is the case – the cut-off date for applications is 6.12.24. This is subject to budget capacity and will close when reached.
