Our Training Offer

Schools Offer

We have always been able to attend coffee mornings and provide some basic training to schools and other settings for free. However, due to increased costs to the organisation and in order to recognise the expertise of our staff, we will be charging a small fee for all sessions from January 2025. Please read on to find out more about what we can offer.

Training Programmes

Pinpoint Cambridgeshire has a highly experienced team with a vast range of professional and personal experience of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). Our team are experienced trainers and also have a great understanding of the local demographic and the particular needs of parents and carers of children with SEND. We are able to provide full or bespoke packages for individual settings based on the particular needs of their population.

Training

Coffee Mornings

We will work with you to set up, assist in advertising and provide support at coffee mornings. We aim to use these sessions to provide a supportive environment for parent carers to decrease feelings of isolation whilst simultaneously providing information that leads to greater empowerment, self-efficacy and resilience. These coffee mornings will be the springboard from which we will aim to educate parents on the principles of participation and co-production and these will form the basis of micro-forums. The aspiration for the micro-forums is for them to be the vehicle from which SEND information reports and other SEND related policies and procedures can be utilised by your setting. We will work alongside the school and your parent carers to hopefully identify some people who may like to continue to run the coffee mornings in your venue after the 6 sessions have finished. We would offer for those identified parent carers to become a Pinpoint Champion meaning that they would have access to ongoing virtual support through our existing volunteer programme.

Sessions are £60 + travel costs each or £300 + travel costs for 6. Travel is chargeable at 45p per mile from the staff members home to the venue as a round trip.

Here are some quotes from those who have previously benefitted from our in person coffee mornings:

“Thanks for such a relaxed and informative meeting. Please continue to do these meetings.”

“To see so many other parents made me feel reassured the I’m not the only (parent) in the playground having these challenges.”

Here are some quotes from our existing Pinpoint Champions:

“I came to pinpoint through a recommendation from my family worker, and it has been an absolute lifeline to me especially in the very worst weeks we had.”

“My sense of gratitude to Pinpoint is quite overwhelming sometimes. I will forever feel indebted!”

“Pinpoint hosted a workshop titled “Supporting Parents and Carers of Neurodiverse Children” at Compare the Market. Linda and Sara facilitated the session, blending compassion with authenticity and educational insights. They shared personal experiences, thoroughly addressed our questions, and provided additional resources and guidance that proved invaluable for our colleagues. Their contribution significantly enhanced our understanding and support for our colleagues who are parents and carers of neurodiverse children and young people.”
