Inclusion East is for families of children, young people and young adults of all ages who have learning disabilities or autism and who will need support from social care beyond their 25th birthday. The Eastern Region Family Forum supports families of people with LD/ASD of all ages. Also support siblings and other family members. Meetings are held four times a year. The group is not widely known about so need more recognition. Inclusion East has been going 11 years, since the end of Valuing People. They support people with LD/ASD and their families. They organise the ERFF, as well as training and others events concerning LD/ASD, for professionals and family carers. Inclusion East gather the views of the families who attend the ERFF and pass them to ADASS East and the NHS East Strategic Advisory Group for LD/ASD. Inclusion East works together with these boards and can also put families in touch to raise issues. It is active support rather than just having a cup of tea and a chat!
