Parent representatives

This page includes information for parents who are interested in becoming parent representatives for Pinpoint.   A parent representative is usually a parent or carer of a child with additional needs or a disability who would like to offer their services in helping to represent the views of parents to those authorities that commission services for such families.

Anyone who would like to become a parent representative will be trained and supported to fulfill this role.  Volunteer training information can be found here.  This is a voluntary role but all out of pocket expenses will be paid.  Pinpoint parents currently provide representation at:

  • District network meetings
  • Decision making groups
  • Interview panels
  • Action groups
  • Focus groups
  • Consultations
  • Regional workshops
  • Development of information for parents

We are getting more enquiries for parent representatives to join interview panels, take part in commissioning services, and attend events as speakers and so we are always looking for more parents to become parent representatives - if you are interested please email Carole Darlow, or call her on 01480 499043 for an informal chat.

If you are a commissioner or professional and you would like to add opportunities to this page, please contact us.  If you would like to request a parent representative to to sit on your group, please contact us.
