British Blind Sport Skiing & Snowboarding Taster Day - April 2017

British Blind Sport and Snozone Disability Snowsports and Visually Impaired Children Take Action (VICTA), are running a skiing and snowboarding taster day at Milton Keynes next year. It's on Saturday 1 April and 29 April 2017, 9am – 6pm at Snozone Milton Keynes, 602 Marlborough Gate, Avebury Boulevard, Milton Keynes MK9 3XS 

No experience is necessary as participants will receive a one hour 1 to 1 session with a qualified ski and snowboarding coach. Also available on the day:

  • 1 to 1 Skiing and Snowboarding lesson for visually impaired people only aged 5 and upwards*.
  • 45 minutes sledging for siblings and friends only aged 5 – 16*.
  • Separate slope passes available for parents/carers who are intermediate and up skiers.
  • *4-17 year olds must be accompanied throughout the activity by a parent/carer.

Travel information:

Participants are responsible for getting themselves to and from the venue and can do so in the following ways: 

Milton Keynes Central Train Station is a 1.4 mile walk from Snozone. Please click here for directions click here*.  

There are several bus stops in close proximity to Snozone*. 

*If making way by public transportation, please let us know what train or bus you will be arriving on and we will arrange for one of our volunteers to meet you from the train station or bus stop and walk with you to the venue.

A free parking permit is included in the cost and details of where you can park specifically will be included in confirmation email. 

What to bring:

  • Jumper/Hoody
  • Coat
  • Waterproof bottoms
  • Thick socks
  • Wellies / Snow boots or trainers 
  • Gloves (essential) as these cannot be hired on the day and there is no entry to the slopes without them.
  • Lunch and snacks

Bookings: 

There are 32 spaces available for each event and will be allocated on a first come first served basis. Register your place online 

 

 Costs:

  • 1 to 1 skiing or snowboarding session - £15.00 of which £10.00 will be reimbursed to you on completion.
  • Sledging - £5 for 45 minutes 
  • Skiing/snowboarding passes – price to be confirmed.
